VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
Want to get thrown out of the best parties in town? Want to be part of the public spectacle that is the TromaDance Film Festival? Do you know what the phrase “indentured servitude” means? No? Great! That said, there are a few things you should know first before joining the ranks of the TromaDance Team…
As long as you are staying with TromaDance, you must abide by our rules. We will be living together for approximately two weeks, so please respect everyone equally and clean up after yourself in the condo.
There will be daily meetings and briefings at which EVERYONE is expected to attend. There will be one meeting each morning, which will let everyone know what is going on that day.
Please bring any picket sign materials (markers, posterboard, sticks, tape, staple guns) that you can.
Please bring any towels, soap and living supplies you will need during your stay in Park City, and enough money to survive. The only thing the TromaDance Team will be providing is a place for you to rest your head.
We will be filming additional footage to be used on upcoming DVDs. Everyone who is joining the TromaDance Team is subject to filming, and will be asked to sign a release when they arrive. Also, everyone is responsible for his or her own actions. Should you get hurt or arrested, TromaDance is not liable, and this will be included in the release that you sign when you arrive.
Things to keep in mind when joining the TromaDance Team in Park City:
You will all have responsibilities to work with the TromaDance Team while in Park City/Salt Lake City. We need to work together to have a fully functioning office and promotional team at all times. It will be a lot of work. There are many parties and other events that happen, and we will have a lot of fun. But you must keep in mind that work will always come before fun. If there is work and fun happening simultaneously, the work has to be done before the fun. When all our work is done, then we can have the fun. Not to say that fun is not to be had while working. You should always have the mindset that we are promoting and representing TromaDance, no matter what you may be doing or where you may be.
- TromaDance will not be able to provide food or money for any living expenses.
- You must bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.
- Bring plenty of warm clothes, especially a good winter jacket, gloves and boots. You will be in a high-elevation area of Utah during the WINTER, and it will be cold. Keep in mind that you will be outside a good majority of the time. So plan ahead.
- When going to and from the living spaces, everyone must remain completely silent. We do not want to get evicted. Also, please keep all noise level in our condo to a minimum.
- All people who stay at the TromaDance condo will be expected to work with the TromaDance Team for their entire stay at the condo. This includes participation in all TromaDance events and parades, and getting up at least once at 7:00am to flyer the downtown kiosks. We will take turns doing so, the rest of the team should be up about 8:00am at the latest.
- A reminder that TromaDance will not be able to provide any transportation during the festival. If you are wanting to attend events like Brewvies and Night Flight in Salt Lake City, then you must arrange for these things yourself. We suggest that you get together with other volunteers to split costs on a rental van.
- No recreational drugs AT ALL. Do not bring any drugs into the TromaDance Condo. Also, please refrain from drinking, if you must do so, wait until all our work is done.
The most important thing to remember is that while everyone is there to have fun, we’re also there to get things done and put on a truly important film festival. If you think you can hack it with Team TromaDance in the mountains of Utah, then follow on to sign up.
